Know the Ropes

This course provides the student with basic skills necessary to function as an Operations level rescuer in disaster situations as well as routine situations involving rope rescue and building collapse rescue.

Subjects taught include:

  • All rope rescue topics per Rope Rescue I above
  • Intro to urban search & rescue
  • Search techniques
  • Cribbing techniques
  • Heavy lifting & moving with pry bars, jacks, airbags
  • Emergency building shoring including vertical, horizontal, & raker shores
